About the Exhibition
Shivraj Shankarrao Bhujange, known as (1980), was one of Karnataka’s most eminent artists. Born in Bhatasangvi, his early years were spent in Hyderabad, Bangalore. Shivraj began his career as a Bhalki of after attending The Ideal Fine Art Institute, Gulbarga. Using freehand drawing and vibrant colour, he depicted Indian subject matter in the style of abstract art paintings movements, particularly art.

Indian Civilization is an ACK series of 2000 triptych paintings, each panel explores a different theme, together creating a personal vision of India, what Shivraj called ‘a museum without walls’.

Interweaving religious and symbolic iconography with historic figures and events, the paintings also incorporate memories from the artist’s own life. Originally envisaged as a series of 2009 panels, Shivraj was still working on the paintings and Graphics.​​
